Thank You Mom!

This Mother’s Day would not be complete unless I wrote a post for my mother and for all mothers. My mom deserves to be recognized for her commitment to my sister and I. My mom was always there for us when we were sick, when we needed help with homework in school, when we needed to be fed, or when we needed someone to console us in times of sadness. For most of my life, my mom has sometimes done or or said quirky things to that might seem odd at the time, but that make me laugh later on. It took me a while to learn from her, but this taught me that you cannot take yourself too seriously. My friends and other family members would often comment on how cool they thought my mom is because of her friendliness. My mom is one of the most selfless people I know. She is constantly looking for ways to be sure that she has done or can keep doing something for my dad, my sister, or myself. I won’t forget all my mom has done for me. I hope that I can be the same selfless and giving person when I am married and have a family of my own. I love you mom!

I feel it is necessary to thank not only my own mother, but all mothers.

Thank you mothers for being there for your loved ones in their time of need, whether it is to help us overcome illness or sadness! Your radiant smile and motherly affection is what sustains us!

Thank you mothers for bearing your children! There is nothing more empowering than carrying and bringing life into the world!

Thank you mothers for your good example of love and kindness!

Thank you mothers for your selfless giving to your friends and family! We would be lost without you!

Thank you mothers for your patience with your family! This is one of the qualities that will mold you into saints!

Thank you women who will be mothers in the future! Your future children are blessed to have you for a mother as you guide them through this world and toward heaven!

Thank you to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the mother of God, who is the greatest advocate for us in heaven, the greatest of all saints, and the best example of what it means to live a life for God and for family! She is so good to us as only a mother could be!

Although this day is designated as Mother’s Day, we should always acknowledge and help our mothers (that includes Mary) every chance we get, not just on Mother’s Day. Help her, pray for her, affirm her, thank her, do things for her selflessly as she does for you, and love her with all your heart.

“So the soldiers did this. But standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. when Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved [John] standing near , he said to his mother, ‘Woman, behold your son!’ Then he said to the disciple, ‘Behold your mother!’ And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home.” John 19:25-27
